5 Things I Want To Help My Audience With

My blog exists to help families simplify their homeschool. Through my years homeschooling my own children, I have continued to find more and more joy in the freedom that homeschooling provides our family. But that freedom can feel overwhelming at times! So I am excited to use my blog to share with others the wonderful ways I’ve found to simplify our homeschooling lifestyle, and as a result, to cultivate curious, self-motivated, independent learners of all of us (myself included!).

With this blog, I aim to:

1. Empower parents to find joy in the freedom of homeschooling.

Sometimes it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that you must use a boxed curriculum. For many families, a fully prepared curriculum that is “open & go” with a schedule of specific things to accomplish works great! But for many, it feels stifling. It can even start to feel like compulsive drudgery!

Homeschooling doesn’t need to be this way! Although state laws vary as to what you need to “prove” each year, in general, homeschooling provides AMAZING freedom. Harnessing that freedom to follow your family’s interests results in joyful learning. Yes, it can be scary at first to “do school” outside the box! But it’s so worth it. With this blog, I will share tips and encouragement for walking along the path of homeschooling freedom.

2. Provide simple tools to make homeschooling fun and EASY.

I plan to provide many freebie tools along the way to help keep your homeschool organized, joyful, and most of all, SIMPLE! My favorite hack is to have my students work as independently as possible. For example, instead of me preparing information for them to digest, I teach them how and where to find reliable information on any topic…and they find it themselves! This not only saves me planning time, but it also teaches them valuable life skills in the process. And they can use their knowledge of how and where to find information again and again, no matter what it is they want to learn about, for the rest of their lives.

One of my favorite tools for independent learning is my Loop Book. You can learn more about it soon, right here on this blog!

3. Recommend the best books, games, and tools for curious, joyful learning.

I love making quick, simple lists of our favorite resources! Building a great home library of books, games, and manipulatives is an awesome way to grow independent learners!

4. Help families find simple solutions for organizing their homeschool lifestyles.

My Loop Book helps keep students organized and independent in their learning. But maybe you also are looking for solutions to organize books, games, homeschool spaces, etc. I love sharing awesome ideas for keeping life organized SIMPLY.

5. Help families find their very own weirdly simple homeschooling solutions.

Every family is unique! That’s what makes homeschooling freedoms so rewarding. I LOVE to help YOU find solutions that fit your family’s awesome uniqueness. I want to interact with you to learn about your family’s needs so I can offer ideas to help you flourish!

I can’t wait to see where this blog takes us!

I’m so thankful to have you here, embarking on this journey with me. I can’t wait to share all of the awesome tools and resources that I’ve found to help our family thrive with homeschooling.
